Betti Alver Museum is located in Jõgeva in the birthplace of Betti Alver. It was established in 2006 to celebrate the 100th birthday of the much loved poetess. We concentrate on the legacy of Betti Alver and composer Alo Mattiisen and also the historical survey of Jõgeva.
Our exhibition has a unique design. You can find old manuscripts, literary work, photos of the literary society with an illuminated background presented on the wall, different videos and some personal belongings of the poetess.
Alo Mattiisen was born on 22 April 1961 in Jõgeva. He graduated from the children music school and the Tallinn Conservatoire.
In 1988, Alo Matiisen became famous for his patriotic songs which ran up the public knowledge during the so-called “singing revolution.”
Walking around Jõgeva you can find wellknown lines from poems of Betti Alver (Designed by Tuumik Stuudio & Tohuto, Kärt Maran).
In our museum You can find a red umbrella of Betti Alver.
